Registration opens for annual Marine Law Enforcement Conference

Washington State Parks and Recreation CommissionRegister now for the 27th Annual Marine Law Enforcement Conference being held Sept. 22-25, 2015, in Tacoma, Washington: http://www.mleconference.com.

This unique opportunity lets marine law enforcement representatives from across Washington as well as outside the state to meet, network and train together using best practices that will enhance their duties on the water. The conference is designed to support continuing education and training, information sharing and technology transfer.Sworn officers and USCG personnel may participate in one of several Enhanced Vessel Operators Courses, scheduled Sept. 19-21, 22-24, 25-27 and 28-30. The Enhanced Vessel Operators Courses will be taught by lead instructors from Washington State Parks and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators.

The 27th Annual Marine Law Enforcement Conference is a program designed to support continuing education and training, information sharing andtechnology transfer. This program is a unique opportunity for marine law enforcement representatives across the State of Washington to meet, network, and train together using best practices that will enhance their duties on the water. Upon conclusion of the program, all participants will be given a certification of completion signifying that they have been trained in the latest and highest standards of law enforcement tactical ability provided by the State of Washington. The Marine Law Enforcement Conference is once again opening the program to marine law enforcement agencies outside of the State of Washington. The training and best practices received during this multi-day event are easily exportable to jurisdictions in other states. Marine law enforcement officers in attendance will be broken up into small groups, ensuring an intimate and interactive setting as critical skills are taught and/or reinforced. Attendees will be given training and instruction in the following fields:

  • Federal & State grant criteria and allocation
  • Boating safety program criteria and approval
  • Tactical boat handling
  • NASBLA Maritime Pro caucus
  • Marine death investigation
  • Operation Dry Water
  • Successes and Challenges of USCG District 13
