What’s been happening at Northwest Response?

The Summer season seems to be sneaking up on everyone – but not us here at Northwest Response (NWR). With CPR, BLS and First Aid classes scheduled nearly everyday on and off site, business is booming and we could not be any more excited for the sunny days to come. New hires, clients and projects are making for an interesting season and we plan to keep you posted as we thrive.

Course registrations and questions come in everyday and we are so enthused to be receiving them. We strive to provide our community with the most effective CPR and First Aid instruction that can be used in real life situations.  NWR is traveling all over western Washington, from Bremerton to La Conner, providing Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED training, Basic Life Support courses and Respirator Fit Testing to a variety of students.  Working with local companies such as Coffee Oasis to larger corporation such as Costco, our instructors are providing employees with the skills to respond and make informed decisions in emergency situations.red cross first aid apr instructor class

With so many classes being scheduled, one that we are particularly looking forward to is the American Red Cross (ARC) Instructor Training coming up on June 28th and 29th. NWR is training partner to Northwest Maritime Academy (NWMA) and is experiencing the growing demand for CPR and First Aid instructors. We are especially thrilled about this course because after completion participants will be able to provide Pediatric and Adult First Aid, CPR and AED training and 2-year certification. This along with the tools provided by ARC will empower individuals in their workplace and community to provide essential knowledge and training to their peers and co-workers.

NWR is also very excited about 2 new team members joining us. Mary Simmons moved to Gig Harbor just last summer and is our newest American Heart Association (AHA) CPR instructor. Mary has been instructing AHA CPR courses since 2003 and has an additional 30 years of experience in schools, hospitals and public health fields as a nurse. In her spare time she likes to explore the beautiful Sound, but we have kept her plate quite full since joining us in March.

Jordyn Phillips is joining us as Executive Assistant to Academy Director Captain Thomas Bliss. Graduating class of 2013 from Olympic High School, she has just been getting her feet wet in the professional world and after joining us in March this year, we threw her right in the deep end. She has been very helpful and surprisingly enthusiastic about the work load that comes with a fast growing business. Jordyn cannot wait to see where all of NWR and NWMA’s big plans take us.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
