Maritime Shipboard Emergency Medical Response Training
By Captain Thomas E. Bliss
November 7th is a big day for me, and for more reasons than the election, its Emergency Medical Response Training day for the crew of the newest ship in National Geographic’s fleet, the Vessel “Venture.”
As a maritime training professional I don’t always lead such an exciting life of training aboard amazing vessels like Lindblad-National Geographic’s “Venture”, but every now and then I get an amazing opportunity.
This is much more than your average “First Aid Class”, our focus will be more advanced life saving skills, as this ship is often in remote areas and far from the quick response of 911, or the United States Coast Guard. These types of classes are a full day, and include a very interactive, dynamic, hands on approach.
